Cebuano riders nearly sweep five races in Mindanao
CEBU, Philippines - It’s another mission accomplished for the Cebu-based Team Castrol-Quickflight Racing as they claimed a bagful of awards from five different races in Mindanao.
Pepo Rubi, Kimboy Pineda and Dondon Capilitan posted a 1-2-3 finish in the expert open and pro class of the Antoy Belican-organized flat track competition highlighting the Kaamulan Festival in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
Castrol-Quickflight also reigned supreme in two other events in Bukidnon.
During the Araw ng Wa-o, Pineda placed first in the expert open followed by Kiki Tan and Rubi.
The heart-and-soul of Castrol-Quickflight, Pepo Rubi, quickly bounced back by winning the championship in the Araw ng Valencia race. Ambo Yapparcon and Joey Bernido wound up second and third, respectively.
Castrol-Quickflight, on the other hand, swept the top four honors in another competition in Ipil, Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur. Ted Conde led the charge followed by Reagan Arquiza, Kuya Tan and Pepo Rubi.
Keith Galaura made sure he can contribute something to the team by copping the third place honors in the Araw ng Lugait motocross event over the weekend in Lugait, Misamis Oriental. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
