- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

Dancesport-Team Cebu City hauled seven golds, nine silvers and seven bronzes to clinch the championship of the opening leg of the three-part DSCPI National Dancesport Rankings and Competition last night at the Philsport Arena in Pasig City.

Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) dancesport directress Eleanor Hayco showed tireless performance all throughout the contest to spearhead DTCC's successful campaign with two golds and a bronze under separate partners.

Hayco and Lloyd Bartolini won the modern standard special event 2. They also bagged a bronze in the grade B standard action.

Showing her versatility, Hayco along with Anselmo Estellore topped the latin SE 2F.

Like Hayco, Estellore also got another gold in the SE 1F latin with Karla Josefina Fornolles.

Another hardworking danceport official, Ricca Alix, and her longtime dance partner Renante Saldua dominated the senior A standard competition. They matched it with a silver finish in the standard SE 2F.

Prince Laurence Inocando ruled the standard SE 1F event along with Danilo Gagano. They also got silver in the SE 1 M with Lark Jabonero.

Two youngsters, Kelly Deluvio and Grace Diana Silud, showed their might with a golden finish in the junior A standard and two silvers through the standard C and latin junior A.

Two other Deluvios, Jason and Kathlene, picked up a gold via the junior C standard, while Paolo Cañete and Jamaeca Thea Nelmida topped the junior A latin plus a silver in the standard action and a bronze in the junior C latin.

Roque Marquez and Rhea Marquez reigned supreme in junior C latin, while Virgianie Oyao and Jeferson Pimentel contributed a gold through the youth A latin.

DTCC’s day went even brighter when Charlea Lagaras and Ronie Vergara lived up to expectations by lording it over in the premiere grade A latin action.

Lagaras added glitter to DTCC’s bid with a silver in the SE2 M event along with Hermi Gemini, while Bernie Tumarong and Miljane Camacho took away the bronze in the grade A standard.

The other DTCC bets who got silvers were John Paul Mocorro and Therese Quilaton in the standard juvenile, Marlon Aliñi and Elsa Zets in the senior C standard, and Jeric Canoy and Jessa Mae Briones in the youth C and A latin action.

The rest of the bronze medallists were Gabriel Gullem and Rhona Rosales in the standard juvenile, Wayland Mancera and Keyla Mancera in the junior C latin, Jared Geson and Jen-Jen Pogoy in the youth C standard, and Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Cañeda in the youth A latin. – THE FREEMAN
