Cebuano dance athletes compete in DSCPI tilt today
CEBU, Philippines - The members of Danceport-Team Cebu City momentarily take a break from organizing inter-barangay contests as they hit the dancefloor themselves for the 2009 DSCPI First Quarterly Rankings and Competition at Philsport Arena today in Pasig City.
The DTCC bets make sure they will get off to a strong start in the three-part national action by fielding in 34 couples to compete in different categories.
DTCC’s lineup is a mixture of veteran and upcoming dance athletes.
Majority of the US-bound DTCC members are also seeing action including Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) dancesport directress Eleanor Hayco and dance partner Lloyd Bartolini, Victoria Alix, Renante Saldua, Anselmo Estellore, Inoie Roi Rendon, Christy Kim Velez, and Hanna Jane Deluvio.
Real-life couple Joel and Ana Madera will also compete under the DTCC banner. There is so much pressure for them as they are expected to make another sterling performance in the premiere amateur class of the modern standard.
Last year, the Maderas as well as fellow Cebuana latin dancer Charlea Lagaras and her partner stunned the heavy favorites in their division. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
