Cebu triathletes gear up for NAGT series

CEBU, Philippines - With triathlon slowly getting back in Cebu sports mainstream, the Cebuanos are expected to once again plunge into the national scene starting with the 2009 SPEEDO National Age-Group Triathlon on March 15 in Davao City.

Several Cebuanos made waves in the NAGT Series in the past but after earning slots to the RP team, not one was able to survive in the national squad for long.

But with the revival of the three-in-one sport here in Cebu, new names and former top triathletes will surely crop up with hopes of making it to the RP training pool.

After the Davao action, Danao City Sports Commission takes charge of hosting the second leg on July 5 in Sogod.

The third leg of this nationwide event will be in Cagayan de Oro on September 20, while the fourth stop will be in Los Baños, Laguna on October 4. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
