Cebu's Kim Lao hauls two golds in AUBC bowling tourney
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana Kimberly Lao continued to make waves as she emerged as the best female bowler with two individual golds in the 2nd Asian University Bowling Championships recently in Manila.
Lao’s sterling performance also powered the University of the Philippines to a second place finish in the overall standings behind Nanyang Technology University.
Lao grabbed her first gold through a record-breaking performance of 1,464 pinfalls in the girls singles.
Lao’s came up with another gilt in the women’s all-events with 4, 073 pinfalls.
Lao, the country’s female representative in the last World Bowling Championships in Mexico, missed a triple gold as she faltered in the masters finals. Lao logged 204 pins for a silver finish. Her teammate Mades Arles clinched then gold with 237 pins.
