5 pm CDO Idol/USPF vs. Hotel Fortuna/SWU
6:30 pm Ave Maria/USJR vs. Prime Asia/UV
The Cobras are currently on top of the totem pole with a clean 3-0 slate, but for sure they are not taking the Panthers lightly owing to the latter’s 75-67 conquest of Ave Maria Sanctuary Park/USJ-R Jaguars last week.
It will be a blockbuster Tuesday for hoop fans as in the main game scheduled at 6:30 pm, league heabyweights Prime Asia/UV Lancers and USJ-R Jaguars go up against each other.
Last February 1 was a day of upsets for the underdogs because after the Panthers defeated the Jaguars, 75-67, and the Enervon/UC Webmasters upended the UV Lancers minus the 6-foot-11 giant Gregory Slaughter, 90-73.
The Panthers face another tough challenge against the Cobras, but the main focus might be the grudge rematch of sort between the Lancers and the Jaguars, who are smarting from similar 1-2 win-loss records.
The Panthers and the Webmasters are tied at second place with 2-1 win-loss cards.
Still in euphoria, the Cobras are again expected to squeeze the most from Eric Zanoria, Alfred Belande, Clifford Maguate, Gilbert Gallarde and Aard Diango, while the Panthers have Elvis Labares, Randy Colonia, Edison Rivera, Elwin Durano and Mike Sereño to count on.
On the other hand, the Lancers will be bannered by Slaughter, Edrian Lao, Eman Calo, Bonifer Sendrijas, Ralph Olivares and Ritchum Dennison.
They will take on the equally-strong Jaguars’ force composed of Armand Ponce, Jabe Delfino, Ranulfo Malinao, Edwin Bibera, and rookie Kurt Amores. –THE FREEMAN
