CEBU - Wendel Yap and Alex Yeo lead the cast of winners in the January Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club played over the weekend.
Yap bagged the lowest gross honors for the premiere class A handicap division shooting one-over-par 72 strokes in the layout carved on the hills of barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
Yeo was declared as lowest net champion for class A with his score of 67 strokes off a gross of 73. Runner-up honors went to Andrew Aznar with a net score of 68 strokes.
The class B lowest gross plum went to Inkee Lee with 78 strokes. The lowest net honors went to Oscar Sanchez with a tournament-best output of 65 strokes. Runner-up honors went to Jessie Yoo.
The class C lowest gross winner was San Fernando Vice Mayor Antonio Canoy with 97. The lowest net champion was Conrado Abarintos with 71 while Richard Li was runner-up with his 76.
The seniors’ lowest gross title went to Ben Yu, who shot eight-over-par 79 while Rolando Albertgo had the lowest net for the 55 years old and up class with 67.
The ladies’ division lowest gross winner was Choi Yi Hwa with 82 while Son Hye Seon had the lowest net with 70.
In the guest division, Sam Park had the lowest gross with 86 while Dino Yap had the lowest net with 79.
Special prizes went to Pete See, who was nearest the pin on hole number six leaving 2 feet and ten inches for a birdie putt, and the Jack Lee for the most accurate drive on hole number 11 as his tee shot landed four feet from the center line. – NLQ
