Green upsets CIIB in LAYA caging

CEBU - The Green team pulled off an 85-81 upset over the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB) of Police Supt. George Ylanan in the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA) 1st Ritchie Osmeña Cup the other night at the Labangon Sports Complex.

The loss dropped CIIB to second place with a 5-2 win-loss record, allowing Lola Carmen Chicharon to assume the solo lead with a 6-1 slate in the league organized by LAYA president Robbie Ylanan.

Mocong Abella and JV Pasana had 33 and 20 points, respectively, as Green improved to a 4-3in a tie with the MLS-Black and Binglens-Red.

    Joseph Bugtai had 22 points for CIIB followed by Arnel Veloso with 13 markers.

In the other game, MLS-Black survived Red, 74-70.

Three players from Black finished in double figures led by Nelson Luague with 25 points. The other top scorers were Mark Enriquez with 17 and Bern Ylanan with 15.

Dexter Dagatan scattered a game-high 34 points for Red.
