CEBU - Missing the fun and excitement brought about by the sport of triathlon, local enthusiasts holds the “Pipti-Pipti Mini-Triathlon” competition this Sunday at the Scuba World beside the Hilton Resort in Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City .
Triathlon has been regarded by some former organizers and triathletes as relatively dead, but the Cebu Triathlon Community hopes to revive it starting with this Sunday’s action that features two categories, road bike and mountainbike.
The participants will swim for 300 meters, bike for 15 kilometers, and run for three kilometers.
The event is called “Pipti-pipti” since the registration fee is only pegged at P50. It is done to test how much the Cebuanos wanted the sport back into the mainstream as well as encourage other individuals who have not been into triathlon to try it out. –Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
