Rodriguez triumphs in opening leg of '09 Kartzone series
Cebu - Paco Rodriguez made a good start for 2009 by reining supreme in the opening leg of the Kartzone Kart Series done under the Cebu Auto and Racing Show yesterday at the Park Mall in Mandaue reclamation area.
After posting the fastest time during the qualifying lap, Rodriguez gained more confidence on the makeshift racetrack.
Rodriguez, a former "Karter of the Year" awardee, crossed the finish line first in the 30-lap action to take home the experts class crown.
The younger Jette Calderon wound up second followed by Patrick Gandionco.
In the masters division, Lord Seno claimed the top honors. He was trailed by Reiner Englis, with Reggie Hisoler finishing third.
Aside from karting, the pre-Sinulog event at Park Mall organized by HAIGE Marketing features a sound off, car show, and autocross. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
