Medalle rallies Lola Carmen Chicharon past Binglens-Red in Laya hoopla
CEBU - Noel Medalle scored four crucial points with less than a minute left in the contest to rally Lola Carmen Chicharon past Binglens-Red, 78-75, in the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA 1st Ritchie Osmeña Cup at the Labangon Sports Complex.
In the other game, the Maroon Saints defeated Trisha & Tracy, 85-73, to improve its win-loss record to 2-2 in a tie with their victim.
The score stood at 74-all, but Medalle came out of nowhere to sink the go-ahead triple for Lola Carmen, 77-74. He later split his charities off a foul to ice Lola Carmen’s third win in four starts.
Medalle finished with 11 points, but it was Niel Sasan who topscored for Lola Carmen with 24 points. Richie Uy donated 14 markers.
Dexter Dagatan exploded with 30 points for Binglens followed by Richard Villanueva with 17.
Yan Saceda, on the other hand, netted 25 points and Yoper Bacalla had 16 for the Maroon Saints. Jade Flores paced Trisha & Tracy with 28 markers.LAYA is headed by Robby Ylanan and Allan Trinidad, while the club advisers are Police Supt. George Ylanan and his brother Mark.
