CEBU - The Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB) Detectives shot down the Maroon team, 79-71, to earn a share of the overall lead with idle Trisha & Tracy in the Labangon Youth Association (LAYA) 1st Ritchie Osmeña Cup last Saturday at the Labangon Sports Complex.
In the opener, the MLS Team crushed Gold, 80-58.
Joseph Bugtai and Arnel Veloso combined for 34 points as CIIB joined Trisha & Tracy on top of the leaderboard with identical 2-0 win-loss records.
Fel Pardenilla had 21 points for Maroon, which suffered its second loss in three starts.
Earlier, Nelson Luage had 19 points and Bernabe Ylanan added 15 for MLS. They were ably supported by Marlon Siaotong with 12 markers.
Cyndee Rollon, Tata Along, and Jeff Hisoler connived for 36 points but their efforts went for naught as Gold slumped to its second consecutive defeat in as many games.
Overseeing the games are LAYA advisers - brothers Mark and Police Supt. George Ylanan.
