CEBU - Shouts of Banzai or maybe Hole-in-one, hole-in-one broke what was a quiet morning yesterday at the Mactan Island Golf Club as the first and, so far, only ace of the 8th Island Tee was scored on hole number 6.
The lucky player was Isao Suzuki of Japan, who now calls Lapu-Lapu City home.
Suzuki aced the 150-yard hole using a Callaway 7-wood and a Precept #22 ball to knock his tee shot into the hole situated on the left side of the green guarded by a pond in front.
The hole-in-one was witnessed by Takeharu Yakumaku, Dr. Marlon Oclarence, and Dr. James Ferraren.
The feat was made at shortly past 7 a.m.
The ace earned him a Nissan March courtesy of RDAK Special Units, a Yamaha motorcycle from Norkis Trading, a Honma 5-star set of irons from Eagle Port Pro Shop, and P50 worth of casino chips from Casino Filipino Mactan.
The Kia Sportage from Gateway Motors (Kia) Cebu is still up for grabs on the two designated holes.
In case more than one player will win a particular set of prizes, they will have to be equally shared.
Action continues today and tomorrow for this member-guest event that has close to 200 teams participating.
