CCC-CSD Builders to face Cebu Niños in exhibition match

CEBU - Newly-crowned Aloguinsan Mayor’s Cup Open champion Carmen Copper Corporation-Construction Services Department (CCC-CSD) Builders get a shot at bigtime basketball as they go up against the inaugural Liga Pilipinas national champion M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños in a goodwill encounter on November 28 at the CCC Recreation Center in Lutopan, Toledo City.

CCC-CSD team consulant Romy Cal said the Niños of coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba have already given their nod for the exhibition duel billed as “Reunion Match.”

Majority of the Builders particularly the troika of Jerry Jaca, Aldrin Ocañada and Raul Redulosa passed the standards of coach Alcoseba’s system and have had played for the Michel J. Lhuillier-owned ballclub for several years.

In order to put up a good fight, the Builders have hired the services of 6-foot-11 Gregory Slaughter of the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and star guard Armand ponce of the University of San-Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.

In the preliminary, the Security/Administration Division will play against the Mine Underground Division.

The Builders-Niños showdown is sponsored by the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Pastoral Council led by its president Mrs. Tessie Ledesma Cal.

If plans do not miscarry, coach Alcoseba plans to bring one of the best games in the Visayas Amateur Athletic Association (VAAA) to Lutopan. - GGM (BANAT NEWS)
