RemEMBER thumps USPF in MLKP U-21 hoop

-

CEBU - Team RemEMBER unleashed a bone-cracking offensive in the final period to crush the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, 85-73, in the 6th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Under-21 Developmental Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

The RemEMBER stalwarts of Consolacion Vice Mayor Ember V. Alinsug and Poblacion Oriental Brgy. Councilor Paul Alelu Q. Flores dictated the tempo of the match after taking an early 20-15 lead, but the USPF Baby Panthers of coach Camilo Go rallied back in the third period to gain a four-point headway, 56-52, going into the final 10 minutes of the contest.

That proved to be USPF’s last hurrah as the RemEMBER cagers suddenly spewed fire and opened the last quarter with an amazing 18-0 run to break the game wide open, 70-56, with less than four minutes left to play.

RemEMBER played steadier down the stretch to complete the great escape.

Thus, RemEMBER stayed at solo second place in Bracket B with a 5-1 win-loss record behind the undefeated front-runner 5th Avenue Telecom (4-0) of coach Marvin Felices. USPF suffered its second setback against the same number of wins.
