CEBU - Eulogio “Junjun” Lasala, Jr., a junior swingman of the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers who played for Lear Marketing in the Lapu-Lapu Basketball League (LBL) seniors open category, captured the LBL All-Star Slam Dunk crown the other day.
Scoring a perfect 30 points in his first attempt, Lasala scored 28 points in his second dunk to amass a total of 58 points, the highest among six participants.
In his third and final dunk, Lasala again scored 30 points for a total of 88 points, besting closest pursuer Rowen Tagalog with 78 points.
On hand to award the P5,000 cash prize to Lasala was LBL sports committee chairman Harry Radaza.
Later in the night, the Alex Cainglet-led Light All-Stars of coach Cromwell Kwan pumelled the Dark side of coach Glenn Bercede, 133-118.
Victory was already in Light’s bag when it posted a 100-71 advantage on a basket by Aletroy Mercader
