Indapan and Arias dominate Pink Oct. Run

CEBU - Crisfrankreadel Indapan of Bukidnon claimed his second title here in Cebu in a span of two weeks after dominating the men’s open division of the 2nd Pink October Run yesterday at the old Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) gym, while Merlita Arias ruled the distaff side.

Indapan clocked in 34 minutes and 7.79 seconds to defeat Eugene Delposo in the men’s division. Delposo finished the race in 35:56.66, while Charlie Berberio landed third with a 38:07.78 clocking.

In the women’s bracker, Arias did not have any regret for joining the 10-kilometer run at the eleventh hour.

Arias breasted the tape in 47:58.43 followed by Sharon Vega with the time of 50:02.46. Jennifer Belocura placed third at 51:27.34, while Milet Chiongbian ended fourth at 52:37.34.

In the battle among the doctors, Yong Larrazabal remained undefeated even if he is still recovering some energy following his campaign in the 2008 Chicago Marathon.

Larrazabal posted a slower time of 46:40.88, but it was more enough to prevent Glenn Cang from overtaking him on top. Tommy Tan wound up third.

In the distaff side, it was Emily Estrada who seized tiara over Yasmin Eunice Jumao-as.

In the 5K action, Meljun Luterte ruled in the men’s class over Revodem Aranas, while Melinda Ponce snatched the women’s crown after outsmarting Bea Katrina Maximo. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
