CEBU - Running enthusiasts will be out in the streets again for the PCS Cebu Pink October Run this Sunday at the Cebu Doctors’ University gym. The event features three race lengths:three-kilometer, 5K and 10K.
The 3K action is being added this year for medical students of the different medical schools in Cebu City.
Those who are interested to join the race may register at Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital through Baby at 254-9246 or Miriam at 0917-3248046.
Runners only have until Friday to register.
More than the fun and competition, the event is staged mainly for breast cancer awareness.
With that, a lay forum on breast cancer awareness will take place after the awarding ceremonies.
“We hope to increase awareness of the public with regards to the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. We also believe that running is one of the best forms of promoting a healthy lifestyle, “said PCS-Cebu President Dr. Arnold Tan.
The Pink October Run is organized by the Philippine College of Surgeons Cebu- Eastern Visayas Chapter with technical support from the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE) led by Joel Baring and the Sight First Clinic Running Club of Dr. Yong Larrazabal.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
