CEBU - Team Gold stunned Black, 85-81, for its second straight win in 28th Still Fighting Athletic Association (SFAA) Inter-Color basketball tournament at the CEC open court.
Gold’s top pivotman Tony Piloton displayed another spectacular performance to record a game-high 25 points, 17 of them coming from the fourth period.
Piloton was heavily backed up by Jun Ando with 22 points followed by Jun Cleofe with 10 markers.
It was a close encounter at the start, but Gold broke the game wide open when it started to hit its targets in the third period.
In the other game, Red demolished White, 96-71, while Blue defeated Green, 78-71, Red and Blue are now tied with 1-1 win-loss cards.
Ernie Batad and Sammy Sacol conspired for 42 points for Red, which led by as much as 25 points.
Ben Pitogo paced Blue with 17 followed by Johnny Viscayno with 16. Denie Pesquera had 22 points for Green, which crashed to its second consecutive loss in as many starts.
