CEBU - Elmer Bartolo made the right decision not to go home to Davao yet as he collected another title here through the World Heart Day 2008 “Run For Your Heart” last Sunday starting and ending at the Cebu Doctors’ Hospital gym.
Bartolo defeated Cebu’s Reiz Enriquez to win his second straight race here while Charlie Berberio landed third.
Long distance runner Jeepy Lumongsod placed fourth followed by Kid Dignos.
In the distaff side, Liezel Lumindas-Getaruelas is back on top after losing to Bartolo’s fellow Davaoeño Monaliza Ambasa during last month’s Don Sergio Osmeña Sr. Memorial Run.
Madeline Carter trailed Getaruelas, while Merlita Arias came out third. Janice Ramos and Sarah Dupio settled for fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the doctors category which also covered 10 kilometers, Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III stayed unbeaten.
This time, Larrazabal defeated Glenn Cang for the top spot, while Raymund Bontol wound up third.
In the battle among female doctors, the top three finishers were Emily Estrada, Rosan Trani and Nicole Cang.
In the 6K MEPZ class, Gardo Bartial emerged as the fastest among the male running employees, while Fria Marie Gani was the best in the female bracket.
The 3K action, on the other hand, saw Mc Louie Cuyos and Catherine Marie Cuyos reigning supreme in their respective divisions.– Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
