Minglanilla diffuses Mandaue Bomb Squad in New York hoop

CEBU - John-john Endrino sparkled with 30 points to power Team Minglanilla past the Mandaue Bomb Squad, 97-90, to win the championship of the Astoria, New York Invitational Summer Tournament at the Emcor Gym in New York, USA.

In an overseas call, Minglanilla coach Dodong Endrino said it was a closely-fought game all the way and was decided only by lucky breaks towards the end.

Mandaue, led by Drazen Ceniza with 15 points, heavily banked in on 6-foot-5 center Joel Capuno.

The Winter League, to be participated in by ex-PBA players presently residing in different parts of America, will immediately follow this October 5 at the Boys and Girls Club gym also in Astoria.

The Johnny Air Cargo, an international courier, is reportedly sponsoring a free round trip ticket from New York to the Philippines for the Best Muse winner.
