2nd Friendship Run draws over 1,000 entries

CEBU – Over a thousand runners will be out on the streets again for the staging of the 2nd Friendship Run this Sunday at the Cebu Business Park.

Majority of the participants will come from the event’s co-presentor, the Don Bosco Technology Center and Cebu Institute of Technology.

For Don Bosco, most of the runners will come from the high school department and their parents since it will be part of their Physical Education and PTA activities.

On the other hand, a big number of delegation is expected from MEPZ, which had been very active in different running events.

Cash prizes, plaques, trophies, medals and gift packs will be given away to the top performers.

Proceeds of the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE)-organized footrace will go to the Kadasig Parents Association Incorporated, a non-government organization duly registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC).

The race is also supported by Julie’s Bakeshop, HeartVit, Omega Pain Killer, Casino Rubbing Alcohol, Bioderm Germicidal soap, Yayoy’s Grill and Resto Bar, Nature’s Spring, Globe Telecom, M.Lhuillier Kwarta Padala, Sky Flakes, Workout Fitness Center, Magnolia, Purefoods, Laguna Garden Café, Dunkin Donuts, Coca-Cola, New Placenta by Psalmstre, Cebu Parklane Hotel, Kulas, and the Cebu Photography Club.

Interested parties may register at the Philippine Sports Commission-VII office located inside the Cebu City Sports Center. Entry fee is pegged at P150 that already includes an event jersey. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
