CEBU - The F. Llamas Youth Association Warriors defeated FYA Viking Haulers, 74-67, to take a 2-0 lead in the 1st Coach Rady Cup Basketball Tournament at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.
The Warriors gun for their third straight win tomorrow when they go up against the winless FYA Golden Eye. The Viking and the Lakers will try to outdo each other to break a 1-1 tie.
Earlier, the FYA Lakers drained Golden Eye, 111-97, to snap out of their two-game losing skid.
Fresh from a scary 52-50 victory over the Lakers, the Warriors kept their poise until the closing minutes of the contest behind the efforts of Elot Cadungog and Chrissar Llegunas, who finished with 18 points each.
The Vikings were led by Tata Laborte and Baeng Medalle with 35 points combined.
The Lakers, on the other hand, rode on the brilliance of Jao Enriquez, who fired 30 points as they handed Golden Eye its second straight setback.
Eking Marata topscored for Golden Eye with a game-high 31 points.
The tournament, which is intended for youth development in Brgy. Punta Princesa, is supported by barangay captain Rolly Diorico and councilman Bugoy Atillo.
