Amor-Yeo tandem rules Alta golf tilt

The duo of Tony Amor and Alex Yeo out-muscled the opposition to bag the top honors in last weekend’s June Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

The tournament was played using the best-ball format on the front nine and alternate shot on the back nine.

Amor and Yeo had a score of 67 strokes to top division 1.  First runner-up honors went to the tandem of Victor Gocela and Martin Mendoza with 69 strokes.  Second runner-up was the team of Nolan Rada and Enrico Colon with 70.

In division 2, the duo of Masahisa Kawakami and Yusunori Hara scored 73 strokes to win the title.  First runner-up was the duo of Richard Lim and Benedict Uy with 74 while third place went to Ari Lee and Peter Po II with 75.

Andrew Si and Antonio Sikimhua topped division 3 with a score of 81 edging John Uy and Rolly Santos in the countback.  Uy and Santos settled for the first runner-up honors while second runner-up was the duo of Jun Enriquez and Edwin Abad with 83.

Brothers Jovy and Jimmy Mendoza topped the guest division with 80 strokes while runner-up honors went to military men Joey Reyes and Aries Anguluan with 82.

Dennis Canoy was nearest the pin on hole No. 6 while Jimmy Mendoza sank the longest putt on hole No. 8 from 32 feet. — NLQ
