After being elected as District Director of United Architects of the Philippines Area C-1, Alan G. Choachuy of UAP Lapu-Lapu Chapter has lined up a series of sports activities as part of his efforts to foster fellowship and camaraderie among professional architects in the region.
“Sports is a very effective tool to promote camaraderie in whatever field or association you are in. More importantly, it promotes a healthy physical well-being for each and every one of us,” said Choachuy.
For almost a decade now, Choachuy has been actively involved in organizing various sports events, particulary cycling and badminton through his Big Al’s Productions.
Choachuy is also into drag racing and is one of the founding members of the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC).
For his invaluable contribution to Cebu sports, Choachuy was the recipient of “Presidential Award” during the 25th Sportwriters Association of Cebu- San Miguel Corporation (SAC-SMC) All-Cebu Sports Awards last year at Casino Español de Cebu.
Meanwhile, elected together with Choachuy were Lawrence Young (deputy director), Peter Bordador (assistant deputy director), Ann Marie Y. Cuizon (secretary) and Philip Lim (treasurer).
The Council Members are Karl Cabilao (Sugbu), Emmanuel Avila (Sugbu), Emmanuel Cuizon (Cebu), Francis Rodriguez (Cebu), Gloria Anino (Rajah Jumabon), Clemente Guanzon (Rajah Humabon), Haidi Fajardo (Lapu-Lapu), and Christopher Dy (Lapu-Lapu). — EBV
