Chung wins title in 1st Amo Cup golf
Howard Chung scored ten-under-par 46 points to bag top honors in the 1st Albino d. Gothong Memorial Golf Tournament, which ended yesterday at the A;lta Vista Golf and Country Club.
Chung, who plays with a handicap of 8, fired nines of 24 and 22 in the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
First runner-up honors went to Victor Gocela with 44 points on nines of 22 and 22 winning via the countback over Richard Lim, who setlled for the second runner-up plum of the premiere handicap class.
Nelson Sarcol emerged the winner in class B after a three-way tie was broken. He scored 45 points along with Eddie Manzano, and Prudgie Gesta. Manzano settled for the 1st runner-up honors while Gesta was the 2nd runner-up.
Jerry Seno won class C with 45 points beating John Tiu in the countback. Tiu took the first runner-up trophy while second runner-up was Eric Ouano also with 45.
In the seniors’ division, David Villono also won a four-way battle for the title as he and three others each logged 47 points. First runner-up honors eventually went to Ong Hian King while second runner-up was Ben Villamor after edging James Gaite.

Those who scored eagles in the tournament were Manzano on hole no. 7, Mike Jo on hole no. 18, Emir Abutazil on hole no. 18, Cristino Lim on hole no. 9, Emilio Alviar on hole no. 9, Marvin Mendoza on hole no. 18, Martin Bell on hole no. 18, and Kim Kwang Seok hole no. 18.
The diamond sponsor of the tournament was A.D. Gothong Manufacturing.
Ideal Builders/Vazbuilt was the platinum sponsor while Security bank and Gothong Southern were the gold sponsors.
