RCAF bags PPSA Barangay Cup cage crown
The Romeo Faunillan-led RCAF whipped LBSM, 93-84, to capture the championship of the Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) Barangay Cup 2008 basketball tournament last Saturday at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.
The RCAF dribblers were too hot to handle for LBSM. Nobody would even recognize it was a titular match because LBSM didn’t have a taste of lead nor forge a deadlock in the entire 40-minute skirmish.
6-foot-3 center Rommel Garcia cashed in 14 of his 25 points in the final period, while Dandre Baclay added 20 markers for RCAF. Former USJ-R Jaguar Freddie del Campo and Alwen Tabasa added 12 points apiece.
Rowel Sumalinog and Tin Atillo had 25 and 18 points, respectively, for LBSM.
In the battle for third, Lito Navarro fired a game-high 34 points to lift Coke Zero to a 110-106 victory over
Robert Abasolo complimented Navarro in scoring with 29 points followed by Allan Lim with 15.
