More than 400 running enthusiasts will answer the gun at 5:00 am for the Cebu Queen City Footrace that starts at Magellan’s cross today.
At stake is the P5,000 purse for the winners in the men and women’s open division with the second and third placers getting P3,000 and P1,000, respectively. The fourth placer will get P700, the fifth P500, while the sixth to tenth placers will receive P300, aside from trophies and medals.
There will also be special awards like the “Youngest Finisher” trophy and the “Biggest Delegation” award.
Apart from the open category, there are tourist, executive, PNP, AFP, MEPZ, masters A (40-49 years old), masters B (50-59 years old), masters C (60 above) and tri-media categories that are open to both men and women.
“This is the race that will draw runners not only from Cebu, but also from all over the Visayas,” race director and organizer Joe Deresas told The Freeman. (RBO)
