The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Developmental Basketball League opens at 2 pm today with an exhibition game between host Minglanilla and the visitors from Cordova at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.
As of today’s official unveiling of the league aimed at developing the talents of aspiring aged 18 years old and below, at least 25 teams have confirmed their participation, 24 are municipalities and one chartered city.
The teams are divided into three conferences: Northern, Central and Southern with the latter split into two divisions, Southwest and Southeast.
Commissioner Ramon Fernandez said those municipalities/cities which are still interested to join have only until at 12 noon on Thursday to register.
The teams under the Northern Conference are Compostela, Liloan, Consolacion, Cordova, Madridejos and Tudela from the Camotes islands.
Comprising the Central Conference are Toledo City, Asturias, Tuburan, San Fernando, Minglanilla and Sibonga.
The Southwest Division teams are Barili, Dumanjug, Moalboal, Alegria and Malabuyoc, while the Southeast entries are Ginatilan, Samboan, Santander, Oslob, Boljoon, Alcoy, Dalaguete and Argao. (GGM)
