MLSDF cagers demolish Boljoon SK, gets invite to play in Dumanjug

-

The M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) Under-21 stalwarts staged a devastating rally in the second period to blow away the Boljoon Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Selection, 58-45, in their goodwill match recently at the Boljoon Sports Complex.

The match beefed up the opening ceremony of the Cebu 2nd Congressional District Summer Sports League.

The MLSDF cagers of coach Eddie B. Ybañez were down by a hairline, 17-18, after the first 10 minutes of play, but suddenly breathe fire and brimstone in the second period where they detonated a 34-16 bomb to tear the game apart at halftime, 51-34.

Boljoon’s hometown bets were groping for form the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, the MLSDF Under-21 hoopsters got an invitation from Dumanjug Mayor Cesar A. Baricuatro to play against Dumanjug’s local team in a friendly encounter at 6 pm on  May 18 at the town’s covered court.

“We have chosen your team for their high quality play, which is certain to attract a huge audience as well as raise the level of our local team’s play,” stated  Mayor Baricuatro in his letter to noted basketball patron and MLSDF Chairman of the Board Michel J. Lhuillier.

Baricuatro said he is actively pursuing sports this summer as a wholesome activity for the youth to keep them away from drugs and other harmful vices.

After Dumanjug, the MLSDF hardcourt warriors will figure in another hardcourt match, this time in Dalaguete before the month ends. – EBV
