Joan Cornejo of Cebu Sacred Heart toppled down 814 pins in the four-game series to rule the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) Juniors 1st Quarter Tournament on Easter Sunday at the SM City-Cebu Bowling Center.
Adding feather on her cap, the 16-year-old Cornejo also won the highest single in the girls division with an aggregate of 220 pinfalls, according to CETBA Youth director Lolito Sy.
Jonathan Aoyama, a 15-year-old bet from Marie Ernestine School, settled for second place with 799 pinfalls to settle for second place, while 12-year-old Ian Cayron of St. Louis School of Mandaue finished third overall with 778 pinfalls.
Cayron also grabbed the highest single for boys with 219 pinfalls.
Rounding up the top 10 finishers were Jude Go (777) of Cebu Achievers Learning Center, John Galindo (773) of St. Louis School, Brian Sy (756) of Cebu Cherish School, Patrick Petracorta (756) of St. Augustine International School, Beatrix Tan (745) of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, Heber Alqueza (729) of St. Benedict Childhood Education, and Genie Silva (723) of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit.
The other top contender in the first quarter tilt was the nine-year Yasu Aoyama of the Woodridge School. The youngest bowler ranked No.17 overall with 673 pinfalls.
The rest were RR Cayron (715) of St. Louis School, Joshua Chu (715) of Cebu Cherish School, Aui Padawan (712) of Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Jonard Chu (691) of Cebu Cherish School, GJ Buyco (686) of San Roque Child Development and Gwyn Silva (674) of Sacred Heart School-Jesuits. (GGM)
