Class 2005 and ’99 score in CECABA

Kwong Bee Sausage 2005 and JV Bakeshop ‘99 trounced separate foes in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Associaiton’s 10th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup on Friday night at the CEC Gym.

Philip John Lua pumped in 29 points on top of seven rebounds, three assists and three steals to power Class 2005 to a 69-61 triumph over Jepoy Sales Inc. 2001, while Class ‘99 drew explosive performances from Troy Symington Tan and Alain Lao to bomb out First ACY 2006, 74-62.

Kent Benedict Uy added 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists as Class 2005 notched its second win in five starts.

The two protagonists fought on even terms in the early goings resulting into a 15-all deadlock at the end of first period, but Class 2005 rallied in the next two quarters, 42-28, to rip the game apart, 57-43.

In other game, T. Tan torched 29 points on top of 12 rebounds and three blocks, while Lao was equally impressive in dishing out 25 points, six rebounds and two assists as Class ‘99 bettered its win-loss record to 2-4 in a tie with its victim.

Tan and Lao connived for 17 points in a searing 23-9 rally in the windup that did only break the backs of Class 2006 but also spoil a scintillating 32-point show by Junwynn Dy.
