CESAFI beach volley action resumes this a.m.

The 2nd Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Beach Volley tournament will resume today at the Inayagan Beach Resort in Naga City.

Game starts at 8 am featuring the University of San Carlos (USC) Spiking Warriors against University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in the men’s division.

The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, on the other hand, shoot for their third straight victory when they take on the Cebu Doctors’ University.

In the distaff side, Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobras will play against the USC Lady Warriors.

Title favorites Genie Sabas and Michelle Simbajon of the Grace Antigua-coached USJ-R Lady Jaguars will square off against CDU Lady Spikers of Coach Fr. Rey Manayon, while the last game in the morning pits the University of Southern Philippines (USPF) Lady Panthers with the UC Lady Webmasters.

In the afternoon session, UC meets USPF Panthers, while USC battles CDU in the men’s class.

SWU will figure in an exciting duel against USJ-R for the top spot in the women’s bracket.

The last two games for today will have USC against UC and CDU opppsite USPF.

Organized by the Cebu Volleyball Federation (CVF) headed by Raul Gonzales, the CESAFI beach volley action will wind up on March 8.

A concert will be held the following day at the Cebu Coliseum to formally close the highly-successful 2007 CESAFI season. — Marigold P. Lebumfacil
