The father-and-son tandem of Loloi and EO Lowen Rendon grabbed a silver and bronze medal together with their respective dance partners in the inaugural staging of the Philippine Star Ball Championships recently at the Crowne Plaza in Manila.
Loloi Rendon and Eleanor Hayco danced in perfect harmony to take the silver medal in the pro-am standard’s Latin-B action.
So impressive that Rendon and Hayco outclassed 2005 SEA Games gold medallist Belinda Adora and her partner for a better placing in their class.
And while Rendon and Hayco’s tandem still clicked, Loloi’s son EO Lowen pulled a big surprise.
Lowen, who was paired with one of Cebu’s most decorated dancesporters Genevieve Camacho, came up with a bronze-medal finish in the pro-am Latin-A class.
Adding glitter to the team’s campaign were DanceSport-Team Cebu City official Ricca Alix and Renante Saldua, who landed sixth out of the 20 entries in the senior standard division.
The decorated members of DTCC train their sights next on the 2008 DCPI First Quarterly Rankings and Competition on March 7 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
