Darters will take center stage Saturday night when the finals of the 2008 Mayor’s and Councilor’s Cup-Sinulog Darts Competition takes place at Baseline Sports and Recreational Center.
To be contested are the trophies in the doubles, 4-man team and the open singles.
Benedict Ramirez and Steve Montenegro will meet, for the doubles title, early qualifier Wyno Ugang and Boy Campugan.
In that doubles competition last week, Allan Veloso and Rodrigo Pamatian settled from third while William Encorporado and Larry Tan took fourth place honors.
Team Rubi and Team Ponce will dispute the 4-man team trophy. Team Rubi has Jun Navales, Jerome Perales, Ruben Wendel and Jonathan Rubi. Eager to give them battle are the Team Ponce darters of Larry Garrido, Blue Boy Manlunas, Dino Bacayo and Jerous Ponce. Team Rubi, however, enjoys a twice-to-beat advantage after topping the elimination round.
After the doubles and 4-man team championship games, more than 40 darts will play for the open single crown.
