1st Hapee U-17 caging starts today

The 1st Hapee Online Challenge Cup Under-17 Basketball League gets underway today with two games on tap at the Don Bosco Technological Center field in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

The first game set at 1 pm features an exhibition match between the Dewfoam-United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) of Allan G. Choachuy against the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Batch ’88 mainstays of team director Rey Kenneth Ng.

In the main feature at 2:30 pm, the Don Bosco Greywolves play host to the University of San Carlos (USC)-South Grade School of coach Christopher “Ope” Abellana.

Completing the six-team field cagefest are Center for International Education (CIE), Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons, Pajo Selection of Lapu-Lapu City, and Hapee Online.

Hapee Online Training Director Mark Tallo said the tournament follows a single round robin format, with the top four teams advancing into the crossover semifinals. The survivors will then play for the championship in a winner-take-all affair.

Special awards will also be handed out to the top individual achievers such as the Dewfoam Best Player of the Game, tournament and Final MVPs, and the members of Mythical Five selection.

Meanwhile, the Hapee Online basketball training camp will start on April 1 at the new venue in Cogon-Ramos Gym.
