The M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) is sponsoring the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) women’s volleyball team in its pursuit for glory in the 2008 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Regional Meet set from February 8-10 at different venues here.
“We are supporting USJ-R in its PRISAA campaign as token of our appreciation because most of MLSDF volleyball players are from the said school,” said MLSDF executive director and multi-title basketball coach Eddie B. Ybañez.
Ybañez is highly confident that the USJ-R volleybelles have a big chance of making it to the PRISAA National Championships sometime this April in Zamboanga City.
Last year, MLSDF also backed up the same USJ-R squad that finished fourth in a strong field of opposition in the National University Games in Bacolod City.
Meanwhile, Ybañez announced the holding of the second edition of the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala All-Ladies Beach Volley Open and the indoor volleyball tournament for men and women this summer.
“This is already part of the MLSDF calendar of activities and we are committed to make it a yearly event,” assured Ybañez as he looks forward to another busy year for MLSDF. — EBV
