The Cebu Fortune-Lapu-Lapu cagers kept their winning ways despite they’re already assured of a quarterfinal seat, bombing out Garing National High School, 124-48, in the continuing action of the 4th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Under-21 Developmental Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
Interestingly, all Cebu Fortune scorers contributed at least 10 points as they continue to enjoy the solo lead in Bracket B with a 6-1 win-loss record.
After ending the first period with a 22-15 lead, Cebu Fortune detonated a devastating 37-6 bomb in the second period to rip the game apart at halftime, 59-21. The hapless Garing side was a complete mess the rest of the way to suffer its fifth straight loss in as many games.
In other games, the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors crushed Athletes for Christ through Evangelical Service (ACES), 91-81, while the Super Pycnogenol-Hoop It Up Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens slammed the University of the Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, 86-75.
The win was USC’s first in five games, while the ACES fell to 2-4. CIT stayed on top of Bracket A leader board with a clean 5-0 slate, while USPF dropped to 3-3.
