The University of San Jose -Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars beat the Asian College of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights 98-86 to advance to the knockout final of the La Fortuna Cup II.
USJ-R will face off with the Southwestern University on February 1 at the Cebu Coliseum.
Earlier, the Cobras took the first final slot with a lopsided 105-80 victory over newcomers Salazar Colleges-Salazar Institute of Technology (SC-SIT).
The Jaguars is the slight favorite in the final showdown after sweeping the single round robin elimination round with a 4-0 slate. Counting their games in the Reinforced Partners Cup, the team had now won 12 straight games.
ACT will battle USC for third place in the curtain raiser for the championship.
The La Fortuna Cup is sponsored by the Hotel Fortuna, La Fortuna Bakery, Pepsi Cola and Nature’s Spring.
