The University of Cebu-Cebu Blue Marlins Swimming Club remained at third place from a field of 13 in the Iloilo Dinagyang Age-Group Swimfest 2008 at the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City yesterday.
UC-CBM currently stands with 2,768 points behind the Aqua Sports Club of Iloilo with 3,511 points and the Iloilo Sea Warriors with 3,378 points.
By medals, UC-CBM of coach Rolando Alvarez now has collected a total of 18 golds, 16 silvers and 16 bronzes.
Paula Abigail Vega grabbed two more golds via the 200m butterfly and 100m freestyle. She also snatched additional three silvers.
UC’s Noel Caneda added gold via the 100m backstroke along with silvers.
Anthony Linn Navarro, who is from Cebu Eastern College but a part of CBM contingent, deposited three more gilts through the 100m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 50m backstroke. His sister Lyh Ann added two golds from the 50m freestyle and 200m IM.
Beth May Arellano handed two more golds through the 100m butterfly and 200m IM, while Serge Patrick Biscocho picked up a gold in the 200m butterfly.
The other CBM swimmers who chipped in medals were Michael David Vega, Dannielle Angela Biscocho, Anthonny Navarro II, Israel David, Josephus Rusiana and Trina Caneda. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
