Former PBA player Peter Jao introduced five-foot-eleven Alfred Vitug, who can play both the point guard and off-guard positions, and JP Cruz, a 5’8” forward, yesterday, during the press conference at La Fortuna-Sto. Niño Branch.

The five-day tournament is sponsored by La Fortuna Bakery, Pepsi Cola and Nature’s Spring.

The champion in the tourney will receive P15,000, the second gets P10,000 and the third will go home with P5,000.

The other game pits the Southwestern University Cobras versus the rookie team Asian College of Technology Cyber Knights. The other entry, Salazar Institute of Technology drew a bye.

Among the points raised during yesterday’s gab was the responsibility of the organizers should players get hurt during the tournament.

Businessman and organizer Lorenzo “Chao” Sy assured the participating teams that they provide assistance, as much as they can, to any of the players who will be injured during the tournament.

Ticket prizes are at P100 for the ringside, P50 for the lower box and P20 for the general admission. Students will get a 50% discount on all seats. (GGM)
