Abellana National School (ANS) and Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC)-A snatched the title in their respective divisions at the conclusion of the 54th Don Bosco Founder’s Day Under-12 and Under-17 football tournament, the other day, at the Don Bosco Seminary fields.
The ANS withstood a gritty Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC)-A to escape with 1-0 victory to win the 17-under title. The triumph enabled ANS to avenge its loss to the same team during the elimination round.
Learning from their game earlier, ANS tightened its defense to frustrate Don Bosco that played without defender Charles Caballes, the 15-under National Player, and another player Plando.
In the 12-under division, DBTC-A blanked the visiting Sta. Rita Football Club of San Carlos City 4-0 to bag the title. Showing superior skills all throughout the final match, the younger Don Bosco booters made mincemeat of Sta. Rita’s defense, to walk away with a lopsided victory.
Rector Fr. Lan Guiao organized the tournament with the support of DBTC Principal Fr. Jerome Constantino and DBTC Coach Glenn Ramos. —Marigold Lebumfacil, Correspondent
