The University of Cebu and Inter-Cebu Football Club lead their respective clusters after winning over separate rivals yesterday in the ongoing 54th Don Bosco Founders Day 11-Aside Men’s Open Football Tournament at the Don Bosco Seminary soccer fields.
The UC booters edged USPF 2-1 for its third win in Cluster A after winning two games earlier including a 3-0 dumping of newly formed No To Drugs Football Club (NTDFC).
The Inter-Cebu Football Club (ICFC), formerly the Hiroshi Team, showed they are at par with UC after clinching its second win in Cluster B by trouncing Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) 3-0. ICFC blanked the Queen City United Football Club (QCUFC) 3-0 yesterday for its first win.
The USPF-Alumni are within UC’s reach with a 2-1 slate after winning over the University of Southern Philippines Football Club (UPFC) 2-0 yesterday. Don Bosco College, meanwhile, bagged its first win by defeating San Roque United Football Club 2-0.
The tournament resumes next Tuesday with games scheduled from 6:00-10:00 pm at the Don Bosco Seminary soccer fields. — Marigold P. Lebumfacil, Correspondent
