Liloan sails into semis of GUV Cup
Liloan continues its winning streak in the municipal competition of the 3rd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup (GUVCUP) For Women yesterday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
The Liloan volleybelles tore down the defenses of erstwhile unbeaten Sta. Fe 25-21, 25-13 to log its fifth straight win to top Bracket A, and most importantly, bagged the first semifinal seat.

Despite its loss, Sta. Fe also advanced into the next round with a 4-1 record.
In Bracket A, Catmon and Minglanilla are still tied for the lead with a similar 4-1 record but will have to part ways today as they go up against each other in the morning schedule.
Win or loss, Catmon and Minglanilla are already assured of semifinal seats, only the placings will be determined by the result of their game.
Catmon, with former USC player Melanie Silvestre and RTM’s Methusheena Bate leading the attack, beat Badian 25-11, 25-13 for its fourth win.
Minglanilla, on the other hand, starring Janice Sellon and Vanessa Vane Juezan, took the measure of Tuburan 25-17, 25-8.
The crossover semifinal matches, in the afternoon, pit Sta. Fe versus the winner between Catmon and Minglanilla while Liloan plays the loser between Catmon and Minglanilla.
