CIT/Metro Gaisano vs.
UC/Aspac Bank
In the opener set at 6:30 pm, USPF/R. Lapid’s Chicharon goes up against the DBTC/Unilab-Alaxan in a showdown of winless teams.
So far, UC/Aspac Bank had been so potent with the presence of scoring leader Jun Mar Fajardo. He had been sowing terror against his counterparts in the low-post area, but the question is how long he will be able to carry the load for his team.
UC has Allen Abellanosa to rely on as well as Jared Kane Abatayo, Jonathan Canceran and Miguelito Ducay, but these hardcourt warriors have been reduced to supporting casts of the Fajardo-starred UC domination.
In two games that they won, Fajardo has compiled 54 points - 24 in their 102-92 conquest of USPF/R. Lapid’s Chicharon and 30 in their 100-90 thrashing of DBTC/Unilab-Alaxan.
Tonight, it will be Fajardo’s wake up call in the big league as he bangs bodies with CIT’s alum Jerry Jaca, a solid patrolman at the shaded lane who will surely give him a tough challenge.
Jaca may not be the best player in the league but he is still capable of demolishing his rivals who will traverse into his domain. He is also capable of providing CIT/Metro Gaisano the needed leadership when the game is on the line.
Aside from Jaca, the CIT/Metro Gaisano alco count the most from Joseph Guangco, Jumel Lanutan, Sherwin Abobo and Sherwin Resilla, among others.
Meanwhile, USPF/R. Lapid’s Chicharon will rely on its former trusted generals in the likes of Michael Sereño, Elvis Labares, Troy Mercader and Bogart Nemenzo, while DBTC/Unilab-Alaxan hopes to draw scoring support from Jefford Aldave, Lester Sunga and Ricmar Perturbos. (GGM)
