The M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation will hold an Awards Night on December 20 to honor those outstanding individuals and institutions who have made invaluable contributions to another highly successful year for MLSDF.
“This is our own way of letting them know how appreciative we are for their unwavering support to the programs and projets of MLSDF. Indeed, it has been another fruitful year for us. We’re looking forward to the coming year full of zest and enthusiasm,” said MLSDF executive director.
Among the recipients of plaques of appreciation from MLSDF are the University of San Carlos (USC), University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), University of Southern Philippines Foundation, University of the Visayas (UV), Southwestern University (SWU), Consolacion National High School, and Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology.
Also set to be feted are the MLSDF All-Stars for winning the Maasin City Invitational Volleyball Tournament, the USJ-R women’s volleyball team for placing fourth in the 2007 National University Games in Bacolod, and UV’s Jusabelle Brillo and Janez Armie Igot for topping the Nestea Beach Volley Season 11 last April in Boracay Island.
They will be joined on the podium by the MLSDF batters for ruling the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Invitational Softball Championships and ALA Boxing Gym amateur boxers led by coach Peter Cuizon for coming up with a decent finish in national tournaments they took part under the sponsorship of MLSDF.
This year, MLSDF has organized numerous events starting off with the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala All-Ladies Beach Volleyball Invitational, the 1st MLKP Developmental Volleyball League for Boys and Girls involving public schools, the 1st MLKP Men and Women’s Volleyball Open, 3rd MLKP Softball Tournament and the 4th MLKP Under-21 Developmental Basketball League.
MLSDF is also the major corporate sponsor of Team Mandaue, which remained undefeated in three games in the 3rd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball (GUV) Cup. — EBV
