Niños debut in Inter-City hoop tonight

The Cebu City Niños take on the Talisay Aquastars as they officially debut in the Inter-City Cup Basketball Tournament at the Inayawan Sports Complex.

Two weeks ago, the Niños beat the same squad 96-94 in an exhibition game.

Game time is at 7 p.m.

Over in Lapu-Lapu City, the Lapu-Lapu Chiefs face the unpredictable Danao Pistols. The Chiefs hope to bounce back from their loss to the Aquastars last week.

Despite the loss, the Chiefs are still on top of the inter-city tournament with a 3-1 record followed by the Bogo Bogoys with a 2-1 card.

The Talisay Aquastars and the Danao Pistols have a similar 1-1 record that they hope to improve this week.

Meanwhile, Inter City organizer Lorenzo “Chao” Sy yesterday announced he is moving the Hotel Fortuna Cup to January 9-13, 2008.

Originally, the tournament was scheduled from December 1-5 at the Cebu Coliseum but Sy indicated that he is giving way to the Visayan Amateur Athletic Association (VAAA) and for the interest of unity among sports organizers in Cebu. (GGM)
