Bogo chalks 2nd win in Inter-City caging

-

The Bogo Bogoys are on a rampage, Jun Ace Arcel as well.

Arcel scored another 30 points to lead Bogo Bogoys to a 79-69 homecourt victory over  the visiting Talisay Aquastars in the ongoing 2007 Inter-City Basketball Tournament at the Don Celestino Martinez Sr. Memorial Sports and Cultural Complex in Bogo City last Sunday.

Over in Toledo, the visiting Danao Pistols escaped with an 85-82 victory over host Toledo Dream Team, handing the latter its second setback in as many games. With the win, the Danao Pistols are now tied with Talisay with a 1-1 record in the six-team tournament.

The Bogoys apparently did their homework as they succeeded in limiting scorers Rico Tabar and Leo Dale Caparas to just nine points and one point, respectively. The victory gave the Bogoys a 2-1 win-loss record, to tie their tormentors the Lapulapu Chiefs.

Ursal, a gritty and slippery guard, scored 32 points in their road victory over the Danao Pistols last Friday, 83-65. In two games that they won, he had already accumulated 62  points, the most by any Inter-City player, so far.

“Among tuyo makasulod lang mi sa semifinals maayo na kaayo para namo. Kinahanglan lang gyud modaug mi kada duwa ug condition lang pirme akong mga players,” (“If we make it to the semifinals, it is already good for us. We just need to win every game and hope that my players maintain their conditioning.”) said Bogoys coach Hermes Sumalinog, Sr.

The scores:
