Chiefs go for third straight victory in inter-city basketball challenge

The Lapu-Lapu Chiefs try to make it three in a row while the Danao Pistols gun for its first win as the 1st Inter-City Cup Basketball Challenge continue today at the air-conditioned Danao Coliseum.

The Chiefs are on top of the leader board with a 2-0 slate but couldn’t take the Talisay Aquastar lightly. The latter nearly pulled an upset against the Cebu City Niños last Sunday, in a game decided only in the dying seconds of the game, at the freethrow line.

The Chiefs will again rely on Adonis Morata, Orly Amores, Arcayd Soroño, Mike Asoro, Ritchel Falcon, Dennis Pajares and Rino Berido.

On the other hand, Talisay has Rico Tabar and the Cabanero brothers to carry the offensive load.

The Danao Pistols will host the visiting Bogo City Bogoys. The game has all the ingredients of a thriller as the home team is expected to give their fans something to cheer about. The visitors, however, are out to redeem themselves after a close 68-73 loss to the Lapu-Lapu Chiefs last Sunday.

The Pistols hope that Bryan Belicario and the home crowd could carry them to victory while the visiting Bogoys will have the hardworking tandem of Jun Ace Ursal and Noel Balili to provide the spark. (GGM)
