Cebuano junior netters play in Malaysia tennis circuit

Nino and Sally Mae Siso, Jacob Lagman, Vince Marc Tabotabo and Krisianne Kintanar dared typhoon “Lando” last night and left for Manila to compete in the Malaysia junior tennis circuit.

The Siso siblings will be playing in the 14-under division. Lagman, Capadocia and Kintanar are listed in the 12-under category while Tabotabo will play in the 10-under division.

Capadocia was the tormentor of Kintanar in the recent Milo National Junior Championship in Manila and is the sixth player in the RP team that will play in Malaysia. Kintanar, despite her defeat, got the go ahead to play after shouldering her fare and other expenses.

The Filipino junior netters have a full schedule ahead of them. After playing in Selangor, they will compete in Penang set for November 27 to December 1, Perlis on December 2-6, and then Langkawi, as their final stop, on December 7 to 11.

The FREEMAN learned that Lagman will only play in two legs as he and his father coach Jess Lagman will be watching the exhibition game between Pete Sampras and Roger Federer at the Malawate Stadium. After this, Lagman have to return to Cebu to make up for the classes he missed while playing in tournaments. He has to do this because he is a graduating pupil at St. Benedict Childhood Learning Center.

Tabotabo is unlikely to play in all the legs leaving the Siso siblings, Kintanar and Capadocia the enviable task of carrying the colors of the Philippines in all four challenging legs.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
